A Ugandan tour operator has been refurbishing abandoned Volkswagen Kombi vans for tourists seeking an alternative form of travel, bringing new life to vehicles that once served as taxis and buses.

Kombi Nation Tours has been using the Kombi vans in addition to its fleet of 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers, reports CNN.

Volkswagen stopped making the Kombi in 2013, when it closed the last factory that produced them in Brazil after 60 years of production.
