Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV will pay $110 million to settle a lawsuit that it misled U.S. investors over excess diesel emissions and failed to comply with federal safety regulations, reports Reuters.
The company has denied wrongdoing and said the settlement will be covered by the company's insurance, according to a statement obtained by Reuters.
Investors sued FCA in 2015. That same year, FCA settled allegations with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it failed to properly complete 23 recalls affecting more than 11 million vehicles. It paid a $105 million federal penalty, among other remedies.
In January, FCA agreed to an $800 settlement to resolve claims by the U.S. Justice Department and California that it used illegal software to evade diesel-emissions testing.
