Toyota is recalling an estimated 43,221 2015 to 2017 Yaris subcompact cars because of a problem with the front seat air bags.
The automaker is recalling an estimated 270 2019 Sienna minivans, and approximately 43,000 Yaris sedans and hatchbacks.
Toyota is taking a "hard look" at its U.S. lineup with an eye toward eliminating smaller cars that aren't performing well as buyers shift toward utility vehicles, the company's head of North American operations said Tuesday.
Toyota is renaming its Yaris subcompact sedan and will offer the car in three trim grades for 2019. The 2019 Yaris will no longer be known as the Yaris iA — a not to its earlier shared platform with Scion, which was discontinued in 2016.
Toyota unveiled a new Yaris to the South African market that has increased the size of the previous model and offers more interior space.
