Grants to Help Pay for Greener Trucks Serving Calif. Ports

LONG BEACH, CA - The South Coast Air Quality Management District on June 4 awarded more than $34 million in state and federal grants to replace 598 trucks operating at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, as well as trucks delivering goods across the region, the Daily Breeze newspaper reported.

LOS ANGELES --- Hundreds of truck drivers converged on Los Angeles City Hall on Friday, Nov. 13, to protest new restrictions set forth in the year-old Clean Truck Program aimed at reducing diesel truck emissions at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach.
