AAA said higher summertime demand for gasoline, along with more expensive crude oil prices, and possible supply disruptions caused by hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region, are likely to keep pushing prices upward.
AAA released its latest Fuel Gauge Report, which said the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.67, as of July 22. This price is 6 cents higher than on July 15 and 20 cents higher than on July 22 last year.

The latest Fuel Gauge Report from AAA shows that the rapid increase in gas prices that occurred since the start of May has reversed itself, with the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded at $3.63 as of May 28, down 3 cents from May 22.
In the Midwest and on the West Coast, prices have increased the most. In Minnesota, the average price has risen 68 cents during the last two weeks (May 6 to May 20) and it's up 63 cents in North Dakota during this period, for example.
