Duke Energy has pledged to convert a majority of its current 10,000-vehicle fleet to electric or another zero-carbon alternative in 10 years.
Workhorse Group Inc. hopes to begin production in 2018 on a plug-in hybrid light-duty pickup truck that the company says is designed for fleet usage.
Companies that have joined this effort include 3M, Chrysler Group, Duke Energy, Eli Lilly and Company, Ford, GE, GM, Google, Nissan, San Diego Gas & Electric, Siemens, Tesla, and Verizon.

AUBURN HILLS, MI - Chrysler delivered 10 more Ram 1500 PHEV pickup trucks as part of its test program. The automaker said it has no plans for a production version of this truck at this time.
