Founded in 1968, Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) is the U.S. Sales and Marketing subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) of Japan and is responsible for the distribution, marketing, sales and service of Subaru vehicles in the United States.

<p> </p> <p>The Subaru Outback was been named 2010 Sport/Utility of the Year by <em>Motor  Trend </em>magazine. The Outback's victory follows the Subaru Forester's win for  the 2009 award, making Subaru the first automaker to win two consecutive  <em>Motor Trend </em>Sport/Utility of the Year awards.</p> <p> </p>
