Automotive Fleet

ARI was founded in 1948 by Holman Automotive Group, when Ford Motor Company asked them to create a business that would lease and rent vehicles to its customers. In their first year, ARI had three clients that had a total of 75 vehicles combined. Today, ARI manages more than 1.3 million vehicles for 2,600 clients in the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, and Europe.

ARI has a history of successfully managing complex fleets of any size for companies in practically every industry, and their client roster includes some of the most recognizable names in business. The company works closely with customers to solve complex fleet management problems by combining business insight and optimal life cycle analysis, sustainable fleet practices, best-in-class services and high-powered technology to drive vehicle fleet efficiency up and costs down.

A long-time leader when it comes to the use of technology in fleet, ARI has consistently invested 25% of the company’s operating budget into systems and technology year-over-year for more than a decade. This has resulted in the development of a suite of innovative world-class solutions that tackle tough business problems — from tracking maintenance expenses to identifying vehicles that are overdue for preventative maintenance, to managing vehicle downtime and fuel expenses.

ARI Insights, a Web-based Management System

ARI insights, the company’s web-based fleet management system, uses advanced data visualization to empower fleets to track, report and manage detailed information on their costs and performance in real-time. This kind of exceptional transparency into fleet operations helps to keep efficiency high, total cost of ownership low, and ultimately transforms a fleet’s vehicles and equipment into assets that drive growth.

ARI also places a significant emphasis on employee engagement, education, training and development. The company has been consistently ranked on Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies To Work For list, coming in at 24 in 2016. ARI is the only fleet management company to be named to this prestigious annual list.

ARI expanded into the United Kingdom in 2011 and continental Europe in 2013. The company’s expansion into Europe was unique because the company is introducing a fully unbundled service model into a market that has been traditionally dominated by closed-end, full-service leasing. They received the Fleet Europe industry award as an innovative international fleet supplier in 2015, just two years after entering the European market.

Champion of Premier Fleet Leasing Alliance

ARI also champions Global Fleet Services (GFS), an alliance of premier fleet leasing companies in top-tier markets around the world. The alliance, which created in 1994, is designed to combine the strengths of each of the member companies in order to best serve international companies with global fleet needs.

GFS enables businesses to develop global strategic initiatives through benchmarking and identification of global fleet synergies as well as comprehensive reporting and identification of cost savings opportunities. The GFS alliance is currently represented in more than 78 countries and manages a combined total of over two million vehicles worldwide.
