Mazda has introduced two new vehicles to its 2016 lineup, including the MX-5 and CX-3, and will provide light upgrades for the Mazda3, Mazda6, and Mazda CX-5. Mazda will also discontinue the Mazda5 compact car.

The Mazda3 lineup will discontinue three models, including the Mazda3i SV, Mazda3s Touring four- and five-door models, while existing models will receive upgrades.

The rearview camera comes standard across the Mazda3 lineup. The Mazda3 Sport and Touring trims will add rain-sensing windshield wipers. Other additions to the Mazda3 include blindspot monitoring with a rear cross-traffic alert for the Sports Preferred Equipment Package and Touring Popular Equipment Package; a dual-zone automatic climate control system; auto-dimming interior mirror; and Bose nine-speaker surround sound system with Centerpoint 2 and AutoPilot 2.

New standard equipment on the Mazda3i Touring four- and five-door models include a power sunroof with one-touch open and illuminated vanity mirrors. The Mazda3 starts at $18,665 with destination fees ($820) included.

The 2016 Mazda6 Sport and Touring trims standard equipment now includes a 7-inch full-color touchscreen display with multifunction commander control with the Mazda Connect infotainment system that replaces 5.8-inch display, sport mode button (automatic transmission only) and a manual passenger seat lifter.

The Mazda6 Sport manual model will not receive the infotainment system. The Mazda6 retails for at least $22,315 with destination and handling charges.

The Mazda CX-5 has an upgraded center console, dashboard and armrest design. An electronic parking brake replaces the hand brake on all trims. The Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter engine replaces 2.0-liter engine on front-wheel-drive models equipped with an automatic transmission. The 155-horsepower, 2.0-liter is only available with the six-speed manual transmission on CX-5 Sport models.

Mazda's CX-5 starts from $22,675 with destination and handling charges included.
