The 2014 Infiniti Q50, the compact executive sedan that replaced the Infiniti G sedan, has made the short list for 2014 World Car of the Year, the automaker announced Wednesday.

Following its initial introduction at the North American International Auto Show in 2013, the Q50 went on sale in North America in the third quarter of 2013. The sedan is also offered as a battery-electric hybrid.

Infiniti offers the Q50 with a 3.7L V-6 or 3.5L hybrid paired with either rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
