FCA US is recalling about 3,000 2017-model year Jeep Renegade compact SUVs so dealers can fix an instrument panel problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

Because of a software issue, multiple malfunction indicator lamps may illuminate on the instrument panel when no malfunction exists. Jeep dealers will update the instrument panel control software, free of charge, to resolve the problem, NHTSA said.

The recall is expected to begin Sept. 16. Vehicle owners can reach FCA customer service at (800) 853-1403. The automaker’s ID code for this recall is T50.
