Sales of vehicles to commercial fleets from nine manufacturers continued their upward trajectory, increasing 8% to 59,748 in June from year-ago levels, according to Automotive Fleet data.

Sales of trucks, vans, and SUVs outsold passenger cars more than five to one, and increased 6.8% to 50,120 units. Sales of cars rose 14.7% to 9,628 vehicles.

For the first half of 2016, fleet sales have increased 10.9% to 374,321. Truck-based sales have been pacing fleet sales year-to-date with a 13.1% increase to 313,759, while sales of passenger cars are essentially flat with a 0.5% increase to 60,562.
