Honda Motor Co. will cease production of its Insight model almost two decades after it arrived in as the first mass production gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle in the U.S.

Honda informed dealers in November it will cease production of the Insight, which has lagged behind the Toyota Prius in sales, reports Bloomberg. Honda introduced the Insight in 1999, about six months earlier than the Prius.

Honda now has five hybrid models in its lineup, including the Accord sedan, Civic sedan, and Fit compact car.
