Autocar Industries LLC is recalling 52 2012 model-year Xpert vehicles to repair seat belt anchorages that fail to meet federal safety standards, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

According to NHTSA, the seat belt anchorages in the recalled vehicles cannot sustain 3,000-pound forces for the specified length of time, as required by federal safety standards.

The recall covers Xpert vehicles manufactured Oct. 17, 2011, through Sept. 17, 2012. They have serial numbers in the range of 213522 through 215336.

Autocar dealers will make the necessary repairs free of charge. Vehicle owners can reach the Indiana-based company at 1-765-489-5499.
