SEATTLE – Sprint, a market leader in engineering and deploying innovative wireless communications services, today announced its selection of Airbiquity as a technology provider for its Sprint Velocity global connected vehicle solution. Airbiquity is a global leader in wireless connected vehicle services. The two companies have reached an agreement to use the Airbiquity Choreo service delivery platform within the Sprint Velocity solution for vehicle manufacturers.

Sprint is actively working with industry-leading technology providers to pioneer mobile integration and enablement for auto manufacturers, as well as other connected transportation solutions. Connected transportation technologies play an increasingly important role in reducing environmental impact, supporting the development of smart grid/electric vehicle implementations, and minimizing driver distraction. Sprint and Airbiquity are also exploring additional market segments where they might collaborate, including other transportation and medical markets.
