IRVINE, CA – Mazda plans to bring its all-new 2014-MY Mazda6 mid-size sedan, an updated version of its 2014 CX-5 compact SUV, and a “facelifted” version of its CX-9 mid-size SUV to the LA Auto Show.

The all-new Mazda6 sedan will fully incorporate Mazda’s SKYACTIV powertrain technology and will feature a 2.5L gasoline engine. It will also come with a new safety technology from Mazda, the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system, which is designed to help mitigate front-end collisions at low speeds.

The sedan will also feature Mazda’s “i-ELOOP” technology, which is a capacitor-based brake energy regeneration system designed to boost fuel economy.

The 2014-MY CX-5 will also receive the SCBS system, which will be available with the Technology Package for the Touring and Grand Touring models but not i-ELOOP. The 2014 CX-5 and 2014 Mazda6 will go on sale in January 2013.

The 2013-MY CX-9, available now, received a mid-cycle facelift, with design changes to the front and rear fascia. The SUV also receives Mazda’s next-generation audio and infotainment system. It includes a 5.8-inch color multi-information touch screen display, updated Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, a TomTom technology-based in-dash navigation system, HD Radio, Pandora, and an SMS audio receipt and delivery feature.

Mazda is scheduled to detail its products and global business plans during its press conference on Nov. 29 at the auto show.
