ST. PAUL, MN – Global water, hygiene, and energy technologies and services company Ecolab Inc. agreed to acquire Champion Technologies and its related company Corsicana Technologies for $2.2 billion in mid-October. Champion is based in Houston, Texas, and is a global energy specialty products and services company with approximately 3,300 employees in more than 30 countries.

According to an Ecolab spokesperson, Champion Technologies’ fleet will become part of Ecolab’s. Ecolab currently operates 7,800 light-duty vehicles in the U.S. and roughly 19,000 vehicles globally. The company did not disclose the size of Champion Technologies’ fleet.

Ecolab stated it expects the transaction to close by the end of the year.
