EDEN PRAIRIE, MN – General Electric’s new Vehicle Innovation Center in Eden Prairie, Minn., is part of a larger a global initiative, which highlight’s the company’s commitment to alt-fuel vehicles.

Automotive Fleet's Editor Mike Antich had the opportunity to visit the center and speak to Deb Frodl, chief strategy officer for GE Capital Fleet Services and global alternative-fuel leader for GE, who in a one-on-one interview discussed a wide range of topics, including how she was inspired to spearhead the center, GE’s target to have 25,000 alternative-fuel vehicles in its fleet by 2015, GE’s overall sustainability goals, and the feedback of its Volt drivers.

Fleet managers from across the nation will have the opportunity to test-drive a variety of alt-fuel vehicles at the Vehicle Innovation Center and work with GE Capital Fleet Services onsite experts to find the right alt-fuel solutions for their fleets. A second center will be opened in Munich, Germany, later this year.
