Manheim Interactive Inc., the e-commerce subsidiary of Manheim Auctions Inc., has announced that year-to-date vehicle sales over its Manheim Online (MOL) cyberlots have already surpassed the total achieved for all of 1999. Through the end of June, more than 40,000 vehicles worth in excess of $615 million have been sold via MOL (www.manheim.com).
At its current rate, vehicle sales over Manheim Online will fall in the 80,000-100,000-unit range totaling a wholesale value between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion by end of 2000. Since the introduction of Manheim Online cyberlots in 1996, more than 95,500 vehicles have been sold worth a gross wholesale value of $1.5 billion.
Manheim cyberlots are online forums that auto dealers, manufacturers, and corporate remarketers use to buy and sell cars at a fixed price over the Manheim Onlne website. Manheim Interactive has 45 cyberlot partners that include all major vehicle manufacturers, financial institutions, and rental companies.
