WASHINGTON – Subaru of America Inc. this month is mailing out corrected owner’s manual inserts to owners of the 2013 model-year Subaru BRZ.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the inserts are intended to replace an inaccurate description of the front passenger occupant classification system’s operation, as well as to clarify sections describing the air bag system.

About 1,886 BRZ vehicles -- manufactured from Nov. 25, 2011 through May 25, 2012 -- came equipped with the version of the owner’s manual that’s in need of these corrective inserts.

There will be no charge for the owner’s manual inserts. The mailing is part of a safety recall.
