WASHINGTON – Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corp. (KME) is recalling 120 2003-2011 model-year AerialCat fire trucks equipped with an aerial bucket that’s operated with electronic controls and a turntable with hydraulic controls.

Upon activation of the “dead man’s switch” on the turntable, the ladder may unexpectedly move, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If this occurs, the operator can lose control of the bucket location, posing a safety risk.

The trucks will be repaired free of charge. Owners can reach KME at (570) 669-5154.
