WASHINGTON – Nissan North America is recalling nearly 1,800 model-year 2011-2012 Infiniti G37 Coupe and model-year 2011 Nissan 370Z vehicles.

Because of a programming error, the power window switch controller in the recalled vehicles was manufactured out of specification, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

As a result, the threshold for auto reverse activation is higher than the Nissan specification. This increases the risk of a hand or finger getting a pinch injury if it becomes trapped in a closing window.

The vehicles covered by this recall were all manufactured from July 2 through Aug. 29 of this year.

Nissan will notify owners of the recall, and dealers will replace the power window switches with new ones free of charge.

Nissan can be contacted at (800) 647-7261.
