WASHINGTON -- Ford Motor Co. is recalling certain replacement fuel tanks that could be installed into model-year 2004-2008 E-150, E-250 and E-350 vans and wagons, reported the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The fuel tanks in the recall have an extra OBDII sensor hole on the top of the tank that may not be properly sealed and may leak fuel. This poses a fire risk, the NHTSA said.

Ford will notify owners of the recall, and Ford dealers will replace the fuel tanks free of charge.

The recall is expected to get underway shortly. Owners can contact Ford at (800) 232-5952.
