ST. LOUISAutomotive Fleet’s 2011 Professional Fleet Manager of the Year Theresa Belding, senior manager of fleet services for Forest Pharmaceuticals, presented a $10,000 scholarship check to Ranken Technical College Oct. 25.

The scholarship was provided by the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), which co-sponsors the annual AF award with Wheels Inc. As part of its co-sponsorship, AFLA provides to Fleet Manager of the Year Award winners a $5,000 scholarship to bestow upon the business school of their choice. This year, Forest Pharmaceuticals is providing a matching amount of $5,000, for a total scholarship amount of $10,000.

The school plans to split the $10,000 into 10 $1,000 scholarship awards, established as the “Fleet Management Scholarship.”

The awards will be distributed to students identified as showing an interest in fleet management as a way to encourage them to pursue that certificate at Ranken.

Ranken Technical College is a private, non-profit institution of higher education which awards Bachelor of Science degrees in two programs, Associate of Technology degrees in 17 technical fields, and certificates in 19 programs. The college also offers extensive industrial training and evening school opportunities for the continuing education of employees in business and industry.
