MONTVALE, NJ – Mercedes-Benz USA reported that its total sales for June 2011 showed an 18.8 percent increase over the same period in 2010. The automaker said this is the highest volume of June sales and sales during the first half of a year, on record. On a year-to-year basis, the company reported a 10.4 percent increase over last year.

Mercedes said its E-Class led sales for the month, at 5,798 vehicle sold, up 19.1 percent over June 2010. The automaker said sales of its full-sized GL-Class SUV posted a 75.9 percent increase over June 2010.

In related news, sales of the company’s Sprinter Vans increased by 162.5 percent for the month, at 1,911, for a year-to-date total of 7,095 (an increase of 101.1 percent over last year)
