WASHINGTON - The National Transportation Safety Board held a public forum on large truck and bus safety on May 10-11.

During the event, participants addressed potential strategies to further improve truck and bus safety on U.S. roads. They also reviewed progress the nation has made in its quest to make commercial vehicle travel safer during the past decade.

Sessions addressed such topics as electronic onboard recorders, crash avoidance technologies, driver hours-of-service restrictions, safety culture, and vehicle size and weight regulations.
