NEW YORK CITY - Toyota announced it will resume production in Japan of Prius vehicles along with its Lexus CT 200h and HS 250h on Monday, March 28. The Prius production will be restarted at Toyota’s Tsutsumi plant, while the Lexus CT 200h and HS 250h will resume production at Toyota Motor Kyushu.
The company restarted production of replacement parts a week ago, and reopened some of its plants that produce parts for overseas production three days ago, in the aftermath of a massive earthquake/tsunami that struck the country on March 11.
TMC will continue to assess parts supply as it considers the restart of other vehicle plants in Japan.
The pilot project will demonstrate how mobility services such as carsharing (car2go), ride-hailing (mytaxi), and multi-modal platforms (moovel) can be intelligently connected to shape the future of mobility.
