NASHVILLE, TN - The National Auto Auction Association mourns the loss of its past president, member, and friend Thomas W. Beasley, age 92, who died on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. Beasley was the owner of Nashville Auto Auction, Nashville, Tenn.

On April 15, 1953 he sold the first car at the newly formed Nashville Auto Auction, and the auction was often referred to as "Tom Beasley's Nashville Auto Auction," according to the association.

In 1959, Beasley served as President of the National Auto Auction Association, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1976. Beasley retired in March 1984 and remained a significant contributor and pioneer of the auto remarketing industry.

He is survived by his daughters, Jan Todd and Ginger Dillon; granddaughters, Christie Schenk (Eric), Sarah Barth (Chad), Aslan Dillon; sister, Westelle Olds; great-grandchildren, Andrew Barth, Ryan Barth and Riley Schenk.

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Woodlawn's Dignity Hall. The burial followed with Military Honors at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice.
