LEXINGTON, NC - Fleets and the general public in Davidson County, N.C., will have easy access to ethanol and biodiesel blends beginning in April, when a new service station opens at Sparky's Marketplace in Lexington, N.C., according to the Dispatch

E85, E30, E15, B5 and B20 will be for sale at the station, along with regular gasoline. The station will be located near the Reserve at Regent Center Apartments on Old Salisbury Road.

The station, being developed by Hill Oil Co., is part of a larger alternative fuel/advanced vehicle project administered by the North Carolina Solar Center's Clean Transportation Program, with funding from the North Carolina Department of Commerce State Energy Division. The initiative uses funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

Also part of this 15-month, $500,000 initiative is an upcoming compressed natural gas refueling station. The CNG station, to be installed by the Greenville Utilities Commission, will be used by East Carolina University's bus system.
