LOS ANGELES - Mobileye Inc., a global pioneer and leader in life saving, vision-based driver assistance systems and analytics for leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers, announced it has signed a retail distribution agreement with Car Toys (www.cartoys.com), the nation's largest independent 12-volt car audio and mobile entertainment retailer.

The agreement calls for Mobileye's aftermarket accident avoidance systems to be made available for purchase through the retailer's fleet distribution channel, as well as its 51 locations in metropolitan areas across the western United States including Seattle and Spokane, Wash.; Portland and Salem, Ore.; Denver, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, Colo.; and Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.

Mobileye's aftermarket product line is led by the C2-170, a driver safety system developed specifically for passenger and fleet vehicles. A modern, comprehensive, single camera-based safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, the C2-170 has generated international automotive industry acclaim, receiving the United Kingdom's prestigious Fleet Safety Forum Award for Excellence 2009, sponsored by Brake - Road Safety Charity - in the Fleet Safety Product category.

A three-in-one safety solution for accident prevention and mitigation, C2-170 provides drivers with warnings against unintended lane departure, collision with a vehicle ahead, and insufficient distance keeping.  Featuring high intensity color coded visual icons, C2-170 reduces the occurrence of accidents and related costs while improving safety through the usage of turn signals, braking patterns and headway keeping.

Car Toys customers will also have access to Mobileye's newly introduced C2-270 technology,  a safety solution that offers Forward Collision Warning, Headway Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning, and incorporates Pedestrian Collision Warning (PCW), including Bicycle and Motorcycle Detection  based on Mobileye's award winning OEM technology With 71 percent of pedestrian fatalities occurring in urban areas, C2-270 alerts the driver with visual and audio warnings of an imminent collision with a pedestrian or cyclist.  The new technology issues a warning up to two seconds before a possible collision takes place, providing the driver with sufficient reaction time.

"For more than two decades, Car Toys has established its position as a definitive resource for products and technologies that enhance the driving experience," said Mobileye, Inc.  CEO Skip Kinford.  "This loyal and consistently expanding customer base represents an audience of enthusiasts who will benefit from the enhanced safety provided by our Pedestrian, Lane Departure , Forward Collision, and Headway Monitoring Warning  systems."

"Given the escalating rate of on-road accidents caused by distracted driving, we felt it was imperative that Mobileye systems be made readily available to our customers," said Car Toys Founder and CEO Dan Brettler.   "Soon, they will have first-hand access to technologies that save lives and significantly minimize risk."
