DES PLAINES, IL - Wheels, Inc., a leader in the multi-billion-dollar fleet-leasing industry, was recently named one of "Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For," by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). The award recognizes only companies with the highest quality human resources (HR) initiatives in Chicagoland.

To qualify for the "101 Best and Brightest," companies are evaluated on key measures in various HR categories including their communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee education and development, employee engagement and commitment, recognition and retention, recruitment and selection and work-life balance. The qualitative and quantitative entry from each company is collected and analyzed by an independent research firm.

"Wheels is committed to helping our clients and employees become successful," said Joan Richards, vice president of human resources. "By creating a positive work environment that empowers employees to delight our clients, we are able to deliver on our promise."

More specifically, Wheels' many employee-focused practices include a "buddy" system for all new hires and a voluntary employee mentoring program, both of which provide guidance to employees and foster personal and professional growth. In addition, Wheels holds "Town Hall" meetings, as well as the annual "State of the Company/Industry" presentation, where executives present the company's progress and new initiatives. This enables all employees to better understand the corporate goals and feel empowered to make a positive effort toward meeting those goals.

"One of Wheels' greatest assets is its unique culture where we all take a proactive role in doing whatever it takes to make our customers successful," said Wheels employee Natasha Gonsky. "Throughout the 30 years I've worked at Wheels, I learned that the real strength and competitive edge we have today are the relationships we build with our customers and the experience we offer them."

"Honorees - like Wheels - have clearly demonstrated why they are an ideal place to work. Companies that capitalize on their greatest resource-their employees-know how to attract and retain top talent," said Jennifer Kluge, President of NABR.

Wheels, Inc., along with the other award winners, will be honored at a celebratory luncheon by the NABR on Monday, August 2 at the Oak Brook Marriott.
