WASHINGTON - Paccar Inc. is recalling 268 Peterbilt MY2010 and MY2011 trucks because of a problem with the hood latch.

The recall affects Peterbilt model 325, 330, 335, 337, 340 and 348 trucks.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a problem with the hood anti-blowdown device poses the risk of unintended latch closure. This in turn creates an injury risk.

Dealers will install hood anti-blowdown retention cables to the radiator and hood assemblies free of charge. The recall will begin in May.

Truck owners can reach Paccar/Peterbilt at (940) 591-4196.
