SPRINGFIELD, OH --- Four people were killed and six injured Jan. 7 after a tanker truck collided with a van carrying adult students on snow-covered Interstate 70 in Clark County, Ohio.

The fatal crash occurred at about 12:40 p.m., CNN reported. All the dead were traveling in the van, which was carrying special-needs adult students enrolled in the Creative Learning Workshop. Creative Learning Workshop uses a fleet of vans to transport students to and from its eight locations throughout Ohio. The company specializes in providing day habilitation and vocational services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The truck was traveling westbound on I-70 before crossing the median into the eastbound lane. The truck clipped a car and then crashed into the van, said Lindsay Komlac, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Public Safety. The truck driver, traveling alone, was taken to a nearby hospital, CNN reported.
