Kenworth Recalls 2010 Trucks

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Kenworth Truck Co., a division of PACCAR Inc., is recalling more than 3,000 2010 trucks because the fasteners attaching the steering gear to the front drive bracket may have received insufficient torque during the installation process. 

The resulting insufficient clamp load may allow the fasteners to become loose and fall away from the vehicle, resulting in road debris. If multiple fasteners become loose, the vehicle steering may wander, which increases the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. 

The 2010 truck models covered by the recall are the Kenworth T2000, T660, T800 and W900S. 

Dealers will inspect and re-torque the steering gear mounting bolts free of charge. Truck owners can contact Kenworth at (425) 828-5440.
