RED BLUFF, CA - Driving safely helped Walmart truck drivers earn money for a local high school, according to the Red Bluff Daily News.

Private fleet truck drivers for Walmart drove extra carefully during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Aug. 23-29. For every accident-free mile they drove during that week, the Walmart Foundation made a financial contribution to local schools.

The foundation is donating one cent for each accident-free mile driven. Red Bluff, Calif.-based Mercy High School will receive a $4,033 donation from Walmart.

"This is just one of the many ways Walmart supports education across the country," said Mike Baker, general transportation manager at the Red Bluff Walmart distribution center.
