WASHINGTON, D.C. --- Spartan Chassis Inc. is recalling 239 MY 2006-2009 fire truck cab and chassis vehicles manufactured between Jan. 16, 2006 and Aug. 10, 2009 that are equipped with the Rolltek supplemental side restraint system.

The side air bags associated with the supplemental restraint system may inadvertently deploy because of fluid intrusion into the control modules. The inadvertent deployment of the air bag poses an injury risk.

Spartan is working with the vehicle manufacturers to identify vehicles that may contain the defect. Those vehicles will be repaired by Spartan free of charge, NHTSA said.
