ANN ARBOR, MI – Ronnie Long, a driver sales representative for Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier and the largest subsidiary of Con-way Inc., has reached the 2-million-mile mark for safe driving for the company, according to Layover.com. He safely drove the 2 million miles between 1987 and 2009.

The company plans to recognize his achievement in a ceremony at its Louisville, Ky., service center, where Long is based. He was previously honored for reaching 1 million miles.

"Ronnie Long's impressive accomplishment highlights the personal and professional commitment to safety of those of our employees who go behind the wheel of a truck every day, and who make it their business to demonstrate superior safety performance on the highways, in our service centers and at our customers' facilities," said John G. Labrie, president, Con-way Freight. "Safety is one of our core values, and we congratulate Ronnie for his extraordinary achievement."

Long has been a professional truck driver for 29 years and has worked for Con-way Freight for 22 years. His route takes him from Louisville to Knoxville, Tenn.

Over the company's 25-year history, more than 1,280 Con-way Freight driver sales representatives have reached the 1-million-mile safe driving milestone, while more than 90 have driven 2 million miles accident-free.
