EVANSVILLE, IN – Atlas Van Lines unveiled its first diesel-electric hybrid moving truck April 8 during a ceremony at Atlas Terminal Company on the Atlas World Group corporate campus. The truck was picked up by its new owner, Atlas Van Lines agent William Duggan, according to InsideINdianaBusiness.com.

Duggan, owner of the Walpole, Mass.-based household goods relocation business, took possession of his 2010 Kenworth T370 diesel-electric hybrid straight truck, purchased from Atlas Terminal Company and sourced from Evansville dealer Palmer Trucks and body manufacturer Kentucky Trailer. The vehicle is the first hybrid-electric moving truck produced by Kenworth Truck Company, according to InsideINdianaBusiness.com.

"Trucks are part of the economy," Atlas Van Lines agent William Duggan said. "You need to have them, but if we can do less damage to the environment and let us lighten a footprint, I am all in favor of it and hope other people follow the example," reported 14news.com.
