HARRISBURG, Pa. --- More than 100 truckers and their supporters staged a rally this morning on the steps of the Pennsylvania Capitol Building, asking lawmakers to cut state taxes on their fuel.

Some truckers have been driving around the Capitol Building and honking their horns, the Associated Press reported. Mark Kirsch, who helped organize the protest, said truckers are being squeezed by the high cost of diesel fuel. State taxes amount to 32 cents a gallon for gasoline and 38 cents a gallon for diesel.

Supporters of the taxes, however, say they are needed to repair roads and bridges.
