--- Allstate Insurance Co. has filed an appeal with the United States Supreme Court, asking the court to strike down a Texas law that prohibits insurance companies from owning body shops.
According to a report in CollisionWeek, the appeal follows an earlier decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, New Orleans that upheld a district court ruling.
Allstate's attorney in the case is Kenneth Starr, who became nationally known for his work as the independent counsel investigating the Clintons in the 1990s.
