--- Oil prices briefly exceeded the $99 a barrel mark today, amid reports of colder weather in the United States and Europe and the continued weakening of the U.S. dollar. But prices later fell, spurred by growing speculation that OPEC ministers will agree to raise crude production during next week's meeting.
New York's main contract for light, sweet crude for January delivery reached as high as $99.11 a barrel, before sliding down to $96.80, AFP reported.
