TOKYO --- Nissan said this month it is ready to test its new slip hazard warning system --- a product that's being readied for commercial application. Nissan said the system combines data from its Intelligent Transport System, which links the vehicle and traffic infrastructure, and antilock brakes. The slip hazard warning system will provide real-time voice alerts when road conditions are icy or slippery. Nissan will run the test in North Japan this winter. "Nissan hopes to examine the accuracy, effectiveness and feasibility of the system utilizing various probe data for future commercial application," the company said.
