DETROIT— After announcing Ford will re-enter the diesel full-size van market in the 2008 model year, Ford has released pricing for the upcoming 2008 model E-Series engines. For 2008, the option price of the diesel engine will be $7,285 (MSRP) when ordered in the E350 vans, wagons, or cutaways, and $7,535 (MSRP) when ordered in the E450 cutaway. "We are very happy to be able to offer the diesel engine again" says Cristi Brown, E-Series marketing manager. "We recognized the need for a competitively priced, more capable diesel-commercial van offering in our lineup." For 2008, the E350 cutaway GVWR has increased to 12,500 lbs. and the E450 now reaches 14,500 lbs. Other significant changes include:
  • All new brake system
  • Improved security with a steel reinforced license plate bracket
  • Optional E-Guard Cargo Protection System on cargo vans
  • Gas engine traction control

    "The 2008 E-Series continues to deliver on what's most important to our customers— versatility, capability and durability." Full E-Series price details will be announced by the end of June.
