DETROIT – On Sept. 17, General Motors said that it would launch the world’s largest next-generation fuel cell vehicle fleet, Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell, according to the Web site www.tradingmarkets.com. As part of comprehensive deployment plan dubbed ‘Project Driveway,’ GM will build more than 100 Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles and begin placing them with customers in fall 2007. According to www.tradingmarkets.com, the main features of the Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles include its ability to start and operate in sub-freezing temperatures during its 50,000-mile life. GM expects to meet all applicable 2007 U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and is equipped with a long list of standard safety features, including driver and passenger frontal airbags, roof rail side-impact airbags, and anti-lock braking system.
