YONKERS, N.Y. --- Two hybrid models from Toyota --- the Prius and the Highlander Hybrid --- made Consumer Reports’ newly released Top Picks List.
Consumer Reports commended the Prius’ 44 mpg overall fuel economy, calling it “the best we’ve measured in any five-passenger vehicle.”
The consumer magazine also praised the Highlander Hybrid’s “excellent overall package, which includes all the inviting attributes of the conventional Highlander as well as better acceleration and moderately better fuel economy.”
The Top Picks List includes the top performer in 10 different vehicle categories. Consumer Reports evaluates cars at its 327-acre auto-test center with a staff of auto engineers. Every vehicle tested is evaluated for months and driven for at least 6,000 miles. More than 200 vehicles were tested.
