DES PLAINES, IL – Wheels Inc. CIO Larry Buettner has been recognized by IDG’s Computerworld magazine as one of the business world’s Premier 100 IT Leaders. The Premier 100 IT Leaders Awards Program honors executives who show exemplary technology leadership in resolving pressing business problems. Honorees, including Buettner, will be recognized at Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference March 5-7 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert, Calif. Buettner was chosen from 500 nominees, who were measured against Computerworld’s IT Leadership Index, a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations, and evaluated by the editors and an external panel of outside judges. Buettner’s selection as a Premier 100 IT Leader was based on his leadership of an enterprise-wide initiative that resulted in deploying a new international technology platform called Created to assist Fleet Logistics, the Wheels European business operation, in servicing global customers with optimal European fleet cost management, the platform manages a unified European currency and the unique business practices of ten target countries.
