TACOMA, WA — John McDuffy, an Oregon trucker, has won a lawsuit against his employer, Interstate Distributor Co., who suspended him after claiming his weight interfered with his ability to do his job, according to Land Line magazine. McDuffy, who is six feet tall and weighs about 550 lbs., had been employed for 14 months by Interstate Distributor. After a doctor found that McDuffy was able to drive a truck, the company still refused to allow him to return to work. McDuffy sued, and was awarded $109,000 on Oct. 5, after video evidence showed him adequately performing his work duties.
