SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Ensenda, a “last mile” logistics company servicing all of North America , announced that Ray Smith has joined the company as chief executive officer. Smith is a logistics industry veteran who has spent 16 years at the helm of major logistics companies, and has a track record of leading companies to the forefront of the industry in customer satisfaction and growth. Prior to Ensenda, Smith served as CEO of Fritz Companies, a publicly-traded global third party logistics company with $1.6 billion in revenue. Before joining Fritz, he was president and CEO of U.S. Fleet Leasing (USFL), a transportation services business with $2 billion in assets, which he led to 27 percent growth. He also served as COO for Matson Navigation Company. “Ensenda has become the provider of choice for shippers and 3PLs looking to reduce costs by making the last mile of their supply chains more efficient,” says Smith. “Logistics departments are facing increasing pressure to improve the bottom line, so the need for Ensenda's services will only grow.
