— FedEx Corp. has temporarily frozen its freight fuel surcharge to help customers hit by volatile prices following Hurricane Katrina, according to Business Week.
The company, which usually updates the fuel surcharge weekly, said it will not allow the charge to top pre-hurricane levels for the next 30 days, beginning Sept. 6. The limit does not apply to its FedEx Express and ground shipping. The FedEx Freight division provides regional next-day and second-day and interregional less-than-truckload freight services.
