LINCOLNWOOD, IL - Marylou Jarvis, a 25-year fleet industry veteran, retired from her position as fleet manager for Grossinger, a Chicago-area-based automotive dealership. She remains affiliated with the company, however, as a part-time assistant to Gary Grossinger, president. Jarvis joined the company in 1979, beginning in fleet department’s billing department. She later worked in fleet operations and in 1999 was named fleet manager. According to Ray Sarbiewski, Grossinger direct-fleet sales, Jarvis hadn’t planned on working for the dealership when she stopped by the showroom to shop for a car, but was hired nearly on the spot. “She jokes that she came to buy a car and ended up buying herself a job,” said Sarbiewski. A resident of Glenview, Ill., Jarvis was married to Chuck Gordon, a former Grossinger fleet manager who passed away in 2002.
